What does yoga mean to me? Yoga means I can connect with my breath and feel at peace with my mind and body.
I joined the Ensō family in March and my intentions were to work out and relax. I quickly fell in love with the classes and Ensō is now a very important part of my life.
However, Ensō is more than a place to do yoga, it’s a place where I don’t feel self-conscious about my body or my emotions. Each instructor and class is special in its own way. Mahogany, who leads Trap & Chill, provides a safe space where we can discuss real-life issues. Shabaka provides a sense of peace in his meditation classes. Dimitrius’ class is challenging so I always leave proud of myself for completing a hard workout. And Jasmin brings in such positive energy to Yoga + Beats and Trap Yoga, that no matter how stressed I am before class I always leave feeling relaxed. Ensō owner and founder Tamara is so welcoming, kind, and just wonderful overall.
While on vacation, I spontaneously thought it would be fun to do a yoga pose at the beach because I was missing the Ensō family back. Throughout my trip, I would ground myself in a pose here and there, lovely reminders of all the things I have learned in the studio back in Fort Worth. It brought a smile to my face that Tamara was excited to see the pictures. I’m so grateful for Ensō Apothecary and all that it has brought to my life, and I am proud to support a resilient entrepreneur and a safe space owned by a woman of color.
Yesenia Castillo is an amazing person that we are honored to have as part of the Ensō family. If you are looking for a safe space to practice yoga and meet more amazing yogi's like Yesenia. Please book a class. We can't wait to see you on the mat! Happy International Yoga Day!!
